Fall 2011 Colloquium

The Penn Population Studies Colloquium Series co-sponsored by the Population Aging Research Center at the University of Pennsylvania meets most Mondays from 12-1 PM during the academic year. The Fall 2021 Colloquium Series will be hosted in-person in McNeil 395. The Population Studies Center adheres to the policies implemented by the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) and University regarding protections in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. SAS and University regulations supersede the specific practices at the PSC, especially since many issues are still in flux. See the latest announcement from the University.

Specific guidelines for the Fall 2021 Colloquium:

Vaccination requirements: All students, faculty, staff, postdocs, and other campus partners, including outside visitors are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 except those who qualify for an exemption.

Sign-up sheet: Attendees are required to fill out a sign-up sheet with their contact information for possible contact tracing. The PSC uses the template provided by SAS. By signing this sheet you attest that you are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 OR are a Penn community member enrolled in the Penn Cares testing program. We will implement the sign-up through two mechanisms:
1) Google sheet: the morning of the colloquium we will circulate a google sign-up sheet. If you plan to attend the colloquium, we ask you to include your name and contact information, in advance.
2) In-person sign-up sheet: for those who did not enter their information on the google sheet we will have a physical sign-up sheet outside the colloquium room for you to include your name and contact information.

Face covering: Face covering is required while indoors, including during the colloquium or individual meetings with the visitor. The PSC office will have extra masks in case you need one.

Food is not allowed during the talk.

Social distance should be observed whenever possible.

Meetings: Group meetings with the visitor, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, will be reserved to no more than 4 people on a first-come, first-served base. Sign-up sheets for these group meetings will be distributed the week before the talk. Sign up here to meet with speakers individually or to participate in the networking lunch, speaker availability will be listed as soon as we have updates, approximately a week before the talk. Contact Dawn Ryan if you are interested in meeting with the speaker.

If you are interested in speaking at one of our colloquium sessions, please contact Emilio Parrado or Iliana Kohler. Population Studies Center events may be photographed and/or video recorded for educational and promotional use.

Privacy Statement: The colloquium series may be recorded for the purpose of dissemination on the Population Aging Research Center and Population Studies Center websites, social media platforms, and on the PSC YouTube channel. If you prefer not to be recorded, please be sure to keep your video and microphone off during the talk and Q&A portion.
