In addition to on-going research activities, PARC is committed to training new investigators interested in aging-related research through it's affiliation with the Graduate Group in Demography, graduate groups in Sociology and Economics, and through the Get Experience in Aging Research Undergraduate Program (GEAR UP) program (A 15-month fellowship in the demography and economics of aging and health care for undergraduates from underrepresented backgrounds).

PARC provides a stimulating environment for new investigators interested in demography and economics of aging. PARC and the Population Studies Center at Penn bring together a distinguished faculty from the Departments of Sociology and Economics, the Wharton Business School, the School of Nursing, and the Perelman School of Medicine.

The GEAR UP program, funded by the National Institute on Aging and supported by the Population Aging Research Center (PARC) and the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics (Penn LDI), will build on the successful and long-standing Summer Undergraduate Minority Research (SUMR) Program, by providing exciting mentored research experiences to undergraduates for two consecutive summers, supplemented with programming throughout the academic year.
