New study published in Nursing Outlook by Karen Lasater (PARC Research Associate), Linda H. Aiken ( PSC/PARC Research Associate) and Matthew D. McHugh (PSC/PARC Research Associate) titled "Variations in nursing baccalaureate education and 30-day inpatient surgical mortality" was cited in a Penn LDI Blog.
PSC and PARC Researchers Linda H. Aiken, Herb L. Smith, Jere R. Behrman, David Bravo and Matthew D. McHugh and co-authors published an article in The Lancet Global Health entitled, "Hospital Nurse Staffing and Patient Outcomes in Chile: A Multilevel Cross-sectional Study." The study showed that establishing safe nurse staffing standards in hospitals in Chile could save lives, prevent readmissions, shorten hospital stays, and reduce costs.
